WebSARAS is an electronic information dissemination tool that
incorporates a graphical user interface (GUI) displaying statistics
for the states and areas therein, in the Bureau of Labor Statistics
regions. This system gives geographic based access to a variety of
census, economic, labor market, and local information.
This application provides a convenient, flexible means of displaying
summary, detailed and comparative data.
WebSARAS uses the 1997 America's Labor Market Information System (ALMIS)
client/server database standard as developed by the Department of Labor,
Employment and Training Administration.
Getting Started
To begin using WebSARAS, select a geography, to view data on that region.
Click on the Geography tab, and then select a region in the map by clicking on it.
You can only select one geography at a time; however, you may return to the
Geography tab and choose a different geography at any point. When a region is
selected, click a Data Tab to read specific data on that region.
The Custom Region Geography allows you to create unique regions comprised
of user-selected areas, on which you can view data.
